The pale gray winter sky set the tone, and my mood, for today's photo journey. I tried to draw inspiration from each place I visited...but only felt dreary and listless. When I got home, I thought I had nothing to show for hours of trekking through the thawed winter mud and freezing abandoned homes...until I saw these five images. After taking a closer look, I feel they could easily be long abandoned locations of Cindy Sherman's Untitled Film Still series (one of my all time favorite art collections...EVER). A once 1970's quaint home, the essence of the American dream...now aged and forgotten...but not without the hint of a former life.

Amy, these are just beautiful. I am familiar with the feeling you came home with after this shoot. I think, though, that is these kind of shoots and locations are necessary. When we end up with work we never anticipated getting, I think it opens the door to some new ways of seeing. These images are truly beautiful and I am sure you have more than the 5 that you mention :) This shoot also reminded me of our adventure to Ft. Hayes many years ago- some of our best work came from that day!
